Forget the great days of Jane Fonda; Yoga is coming back with a vengeance. As people look for weight loss solutions and ways to lose belly fat that work, this sort of practice is gaining popularity even amongst the younger generation. The key element to the success of yoga is that it trains different parts of your body simultaneously. It will make you extremely flexible so that the problems with joints can be avoided. It is probably not the quickest way to lose weight, but certainly one of the more healthy ways. As mentioned it trains many different parts of our body and additionally to that, it also contributes to our mental health and wellbeing. The celebrity factor is also adding to the popularity of yoga as a form of exercise.

Overweight people and yoga
It is best to start with the gentle versions of the practice before going for the full swing. If you are suffering from multiple problems that are associated with obesity, you cannot just rush into the highest level of yoga. You need to take it slowly and find your feet on the circuit. That way you will be able to handle the difficult bits when the time comes. Yoga is challenging enough without your poor practices to throw into the mix.
Pregnant women can use yoga to develop the muscle strength that is required to carry the child and through the birth process. If you are a partner, then it is acceptable for you to join the classes so that your loved one does not feel abandoned. Of course this can be combined with ever popular aerobic classes. This will help the lady in question to have a relatively easy birth. It will also mean that there is a chance that you can quickly get back to your old figure.

Ok right now i ussually do ab machine a lot at the gym ab ripper x on the p90x videos and thats about it. I sometimes do yoga ball crunches etc. I have been doing a combination of this off and on for about half a year i only have about 4 months before I start going to the beach all the time again and would really like to have a six pack by then. some info on my body type if it matters, are

5 foot 6
125 lbs
Slim athletic (play sport)
I do tons of cardio in lacrosse

any help is appreciated. thanks!

I am a 27 yo guy, and I do yoga, hindu pushups, regular pushups, hindu squats and ab exercises (several types ) everday combined with 1hr walking. My stomach toned up nicely, but am not sure If I am going to see a six pack. I have been reading articles which suggest that I should work out the abs alternate days instead of everyday for a six pack. But I do only one set of reps (20 reps of each exercise) combined with yoga. So is it okay to do everyday and still get a six pack?

I have been doing this routine of yoga, ab exercise, push-ups and walking combo for about 1 month now.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

im trying to loose atleast 5-10 lbs before june 2 so i have 8 weeks

and also i need a flat stomach
the part i need to work on the most is my lower abs so more excercises on that

please any suggestions to get a flatter stomach before june 2 and what i should do to change my "diet"

ive been doing the eliptical machine for 20 mins on the cardio level and then i go do other weights and machines and then i walk for 15 mins (should i incline it?) and then bike for 15 mins on the weight lose program…im 137 lbs ..i no muscle weighs more than fat so if i dont actually lose "weight" thats ok i just need to have my stomach flatter

ive been doing this every other days but ive only done 3 days so far….is yoga good? and how about pilates? ive done that but i havent really seen too much of a diffrence
